Closure

Closure is an installation of ritual in the development. Touching the process of grieving. Letting go. Paintings were constructed on wooden boxes with mixed media and tar-like materials representing the breaking down and distillation (as found with the formation of tar-like substances). Many, many (many) pounds of peat moss were sculpted into forms relating to the paintings which were placed on the walls and also on the floor of one room. The installation smelled of earth. Closure speaks of earth and burial.
